Why MedSmart? MedSmart is designed to address one of the biggest problems in healthcare - medication non-adherence. Classified as "the world's other drug problem", non-adherence to medication regimens accounts for more than 10% of older adult hospital admissions and one out of four nursing home admissions.

How does it work? At each reminder / alarm time (up to six times per day), a flashing light and sound alert will remind you that it is time to take your pills; the tray will rotate, and all your medication for this time will be made available (all other medicine is inaccessible).

Tip the unit (turn upside down) to dispense your pills and the motion of turning the device upside down turns off the alarm. The device is now ready to dispense the next dose at the scheduled time.

Early Dose Button: Perfect for individuals with active lifestyles, doses can be accessed early so they can be taken while not at home. Based upon individual client needs, the early dose button may be closed (turned off) to control misuse.

Powered Docking Base: The MedSmart comes with a convenient docking station ('home pill station') which provides power to the unit.

Transportable / Back-Up Battery: MedSmart operates on AC power when in the docking station and on battery power (4 x AA batteries) when away from the docking station (or in the event of a power outage).

MedSmart Easy to Setup. Simply program the Medication Alarms from 1 to 6 times per day in accordance with the patient's dosage schedule.

The circular tray has cells for you to organize pills. Select the appropriate template that corresponds with the dosage schedule and fill the tray accordingly. Close the MedSmart device, lock it and place it on the docking station.
